Removing Accessibility Barriers

Removing Accessibility Barriers

Creating Inclusive Public Spaces for People of Determination

Engineers Without Borders – Kuwait is committed to designing environments where everyone can participate fully and equally. In this project, we collaborated with community members, accessibility advocates, and local authorities to identify and remove physical and social barriers that limit access for people with disabilities.

Project Highlights:

  • Accessibility Audits of public walkways, buildings, and recreational spaces to identify critical obstacles.

  • Design & Implementation of ramps, tactile paving, accessible seating, and signage in public areas such as parks and walkways.

  • Community Engagement sessions to raise awareness about inclusive design and promote dignity, autonomy, and equal opportunity.

  • Standards-Based Approach using international best practices to ensure compliance with universal design principles.

This initiative is part of our broader goal to create human-centred, sustainable infrastructure that reflects the values of inclusion, equity, and respect for all individuals — regardless of ability.
