According to UNHCR, over 2.6 million refugees currently live in camps worldwide in 2017 with poor living conditions. Dadaab camps in Kenya are one of those camps and considered as a permanent camp hosting more than 245 thousand refugees

The Challenge

Designing an improved and sustainable housing cabin for refugee families in Dadaab camps by providing a modular housing design that should focus on and improve the environmental, economic and social effects

The submission requirements are: Technical report, Drawings, and Presentation

We will provide workshops to offer professional assistance, consultation and guidance

Team Registration Guidelines

Engineering students: (1) Studying in Kuwait, or (2) Studying abroad through the Ministry of Higher Education, or (3) Fresh graduates – within 2 years of graduation

Each team should contain: (1) Between 3 to 5 members and (2) a minimum of 2 members of Kuwaiti nationality

NOTE: Teams with a minimum of 2 different engineering disciplines will receive extra points

Proposal Submission Deadline: 15 MAY 2018

The Prize

The winning team will be invited to attend the annual conference of the “World Federation of Engineering Organizations” (WFEO), which will take place in UK 2018. The winning team will present a paper during the meeting of “Young Engineers Future Leaders Committee” which will be taking place during the WFEO conference
